“...to create a piece of art that can be used, as well as raise an awareness of the cultural diversity and the natural beauty of our Earth ...that is truly my desire. ~helen” |

BIO Born in Colorado and experiencing the majesty of the Rockies, farming in Western NY during my teens, and spending my college years on the Hudson River, has given me a connection to Nature and its beauty that is a focus in my body of work. On my artistic journey I have traveled through Pen&Ink, Oil and Acrylic as well as Watercolor, and arrived at my current focus: Clay. I have held numerous artistic positions including newsletter editor for Cary Fine Art League, and President of the Board for Visual Art Exchange in Raleigh. Past exhibits have included solo and group shows throughout the East Coast as well as gallery representations in North Carolina and New York. Donating to charitable organizations has always been of importance to me, and I have had my pieces auctioned/sold for groups like The Seeing Eye, Durham Art Guild, Moore County Arts Council, and Works of Heart to name a few. The themes in my work come from my interests in gardening, yoga, ancient cultures, architecture and story telling. I wish to spread a positive message and share the joys and beauty I find in this multifaceted world we live in. |
